kasoori methi is like a dry herb with a nice earthy flavor. Easily available in Indian stores. You could substitute with cilantro – not the same but it will work.

Hi, I made this twice in two weeks! That’s how much my hubby and I loved it! The second time around, we ate it with garlic naan, which was a good complement. The Greek yogurt was a great idea and definitely enhanced the taste. And you are right, it tasted just like something one would eat in a restaurant — minus the grease Thanks for sharing!

Tried this yesterday.. flavor was excellent.. However, when I was sauteing the mushrooms, I really couldn’t get to brown.. They released a lot of water. I really tried to do it in small batches and didn’t move them around/stir them much..
Any tips/suggestions? Thanks!

Try using a large pan, and dont salt the mushrooms till the end. Hope this helps!

Hi Sala,
This turned out amazing.. my husband LOVED the sauce. Sadly, he does not share my love for mushrooms. Can I use paneer instead? If so, should it be unfried paneer? And can I mix it in the same yogurt masala and fry it?
